Hiking in Montana

Updated: Oct 29, 2022

Specifically in the Bitterroot Valley

There are endless trails in Montana, but more specifically what I'm talking about today are the amazing trails in the Bitterroot Valley. You can ride horses, quads, UTVs, bicycles, you name it! Just make sure you mind the specific directions/restrictions of that trail.

Some of my favorites to hike are found below with links to the respective locations.

Lake Como, Montana

Lake Como - fantastic for beachgoers, boaters, and hikers alike.

Twin Lakes, Montana

Twin Lakes - you can camp here, day hike, go for a swim or canoe, the opportunities are endless.

Calf Creek, Montana

Calf Creek - Calf Creek Wildlife Management Area is open to non-motorized patrons from April 15 - November 30 every year. Ride your horses, take your dogs, and hike/bike to your heart's content on 2300+/- acres in Corvallis.

Bailey Lake, Montana

Bailey Lake Trail - easy, family friendly hike for everyone to enjoy.

Burnt Fork Lake

Burnt Fork Lake - a bit of a trek to get up there, and an easy hike in. Well worth the trip!
